FURNITURE

DELICATE LOOKS, MADE STURDY

Glass was once just used as a protective layer for furniture. These days, the team at David Glass has widened its product offerings to include custom made glass furniture that is sleek and modern while retaining the strength and durability needed for functional furniture.

The team has made small objects like clocks, boxes, sneeze guards and shelves, and larger objects like mirror covered furniture, glass tables and cabinets, bain-maries and side tables.

If you want a piece of furniture protected, or have an idea for a perfect piece, go to the ‘Contact Us’ tab where we can help bring your vision into reality.

GLASS TYPES

MIRRORED GLASS

Reflect Your World

The better the mirror, the better you feel when you look into it. Mirrors are the magicians of any building, creating larger spaces, moving light, and reflecting your style onto your surroundings.

Since they come in all shapes and sizes, the team at David Glass are in love with the magic they can bring to any building, be it personal or professional. If you’re looking for something small, the team have successfully made and installed all styles of mirror, including mirrored furniture, tiles, bathroom mirrors or mirrored frames, antique vibes, art deco looks, or traditional, federation, or venetian style mirrors.

So whatever colour you have in mind, we’ve got you covered.

CLEAR FLOAT GLASS

Your Best Basics

Float glass is our team’s favourite, versatile starting point when looking after your needs. Molten glass is poured with precision onto molten tin to create a smooth, flat surface that becomes the base for almost every application of glass you can think of!

Mostly colourless, float glass looks almost completely transparent from the front, but has a sea-green tint when viewed from the side, and can be tinted in a variety of colours, made reflective, or even patterned to give you an infinite selection of aesthetic options.

If you’re creating the perfect look for your kitchen splashback or shower-screen door, float glass can be made low-iron to get the perfect colour, or etched to give either a personal, or professional touch.

PATTERNED GLASS

Private, Pretty And Personal

Privacy doesn’t have to mean a drawn curtain blocking all your light. With options for fogged, patterned, textured and etched glass, you can create a personalised touch that keeps the light coming in, and the prying eyes out. Alternatively, etched designs make for beautifully modern bathrooms with patterned shower screens or shelving, and fogged glass could add a misty grace to your balcony’s balustrade.

The team at David Glass has perfected the art of patterned glass in such a way that allows new applications of the medium, creating textured and patterned glass that can be double insulated, toughened or laminated to suit your needs.

LOW IRON GLASS

When Colour Is Crucial

Low Iron Glass can help you to achieve high definition visual results, and give your design’s aesthetic the clarity you’re craving. When it’s made, molten clear Float Glass produces Iron Dioxide which tinges the colour of the material slightly with a lovely shade of green. By removing most of the Iron Dioxide in production, the team at David Glass can significantly reduce colour distortion, and increased light transmission, creating a vivid, high quality effect.

If you want a show-stopping splashback, or the perfectly coloured shower screen, Low Iron Glass could be exactly what you need.

TINTED GLASS

Solar Shielding

Don’t be that person who keeps their sunnies on inside. Tinted glass can work exactly the same way as your favourite pair without making a classic faux-pas! By reducing the amount of solar radiation that enters the building, you can protect your eyes, and your furniture with tinted glass. Tinting windows or skylights with colours like green, bronze, or grey can keep your space cool, in more ways then one.

SAFETY GLASS

Protecting You and Yours

The safety of you and your family, your co-workers and your clients is important to us. At David Glass, we always comply with the Australian Standard AS-1288 to ensure the compliant installation of both toughened and laminated safety glass. We can help you choose which of these two A-grade safety glass types best meet your needs.

Toughened Safety Glass is made by heating, stressing, and cooling the glass in the furnace until it’s dense, strong, and durable, standing 4-7 times stronger then ordinary Float Glass. If struck with enough force, this type of glass will shatter into dense, cube-like pieces that have fewer sharp edges to reduce the chance of injury, but as this quickly falls from its frame afterwards, this can cause an urgent replacement issue.

PAINTED GLASS

Clear, Classic Design

Giving the glass both extra protection and great aesthetics, the back of a glass panel can be painted, or printed any colour for decorative and functional purposes. Shop signs, name plaques, splash backs and notice boards have all been expertly made and installed by David Glass, giving vibrant tones to a design, or printing high resolution images on glass that add a quality touch your ideas.

So whatever colour you have in mind, we’ve got you covered.
